Boy of the Painted Cave, by Justin Denzel, has 158 page. Tao, the main character in this book, wants to draw and paint. This is forbidden in his clan, so he has to be careful about when and where he paints. Greybeard, a cave painter, teaches Tao how to draw better, so Tao can take Greybeard's place as cave painter. In the end of Boy of the Painted Cave, Tao becomes a cave painter. Tao and the society of his clan constantly conflict in Boy of the Painted Cave.
Tao breaks the rules of his clan throughout Boy of the Painted Cave. He hunts with a wolf dog even though they are taboo. Tao also hunts in the Slough, which is deemed to be filled with demons. He paints and draws too. This is the biggest rule which he has broken. As you can see, Tao breaks many taboos of his clan in Boy of the Painted Cave.
