Stormbreaker, a 234 page novel by Anthony Horowitz, will glue readers to their seats until finished. Alex Rider, a 14 year old English boy, finds himself thrown into a world of spies, assassins, and blackmail soon following the death of his uncle, Ian Rider, who was a spy for MI6. MI6 blackmails Alex so that he will go to a computer laboratory where Herod Sayle, a computer scientist, is manufacturing a new type of computer which he plans to give to every school in England. Alex finds out Herod is putting smallpox virus in each computer to kill school children in all of England, but Alex prevents this by parachuting into the Science Museum in London and shooting the main stormbreaker, the new type of computer, so that it can't activate the smallpox virus. Alex Rider is very adventurous, this much is obvious.

Adventurous is a character trait that should definantly be given to Alex Rider. Firstly, Alex jumps across the ledge of a 15 story building just ot satisfy is curiosity. Second, Alex pickpockets his drill sergeant, even though he could get in a great deal of trouble. Lastly, he parachutes into the Science Museum in London and shoots the Prime Minister of England to prevent him from turning on a computer that contains a smallpox virus. Any reader would absolutely love this book.
